The Foundation was established in 2001 based on a rising and very pronounced need to find appropriate living quarters for people with special needs. Finding housing that meets the requirements of special needs persons who want and are able to establish an independent adult life can be problematic. Though often physically able, if they are to function optimally, many special needs persons require living space that offers them a sense of security and social organisation. There are many groups which on a local level have experience establishing appropriate housing. The Foundationwas created to reap the fruits of these experiences on a national level, where they can act on the behalf a wide range of people with special needs.
