Youth for Equality was started in 1990 by a group of parents and professionals to give young people with special needs their own organisation. The need for a social network, where the young could stay in contact with friends and acquaintances from schools and educational institutions was apparent. Youth for Equality's aim is to work for equal conditions for all youth with special needs whether these needs are based on academic, learning or functional difficulties. UFL arranges national and local activities for all youths who want to participate. Among other activities are:
